Wei Wang is an Associate Research Professor at the Institute of Flexible Electronics (Future Technology), Nanjing Tech University. His research focuses on two-dimensional magnetic materials, topological quantum materials, and optoelectronic / spintronic devices. He specializes in high-quality single-crystal growth and low-temperature, high-magnetic-field transport characterization, with a series of works on the quantum Hall effect in topological insulators, quantum oscillations in ZrTe₅/HfTe₅, and the physics and devices of 2D magnets. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Geneva (Prof. Alberto Morpurgo) and also serves as a corporate technology deputy director, advancing cryogenic transport and micro/nano characterization technologies.

Research

Research Focus

2D magnetic materials

Magnetic anisotropy, exchange bias, and spin transport in van der Waals magnets such as CrXTe₃, FePS₃, NiPS₃, and Cr₁⁄₃NbS₂; materials and interface engineering for spintronic devices.

Topology & quantum transport

Quantum Hall effect, quantum oscillations, weak antilocalization, and metal–insulator transitions in topological insulators and Dirac/Weyl-related materials (ZrTe₅, HfTe₅, (BiSb)₂Te₃).

Optoelectronics & heterostructures

2D photodetectors (including polarized IR), MoS₂/C₆₀ and related heterostructures, and characterization systems linked to ultrafast / near-field spectroscopy.

Crystals & cryogenic characterization

Bridgman, flux, and CVT single-crystal growth; PPMS and ultra-low-temperature high-field transport; SEM/AFM/XRD/PL/Raman and micro/nano fabrication.
